File Storage Administrator

As a Barclays File Storage Administrator, you will be a member of the Storage team in Infrastructure Services, this role will focus on overall support and maintenance of the Global Storage and Backup infrastructure in line with global and local reporting standards. This role will supply day to day 2nd Line support of all Storage infrastructure, technologies and services within global Barclays estate, planning, analytical and problem solving skills to Barclays business areas as a member of the Global Storage team.

What will you be doing?

• Managing Incident, Problem and Change Management of File, Backup, Enterprise and Archive Storage Infrastructure
• Managing Storage and Backup Technology and Infrastructure planning, analytical and problem solving skills to Americas business area clients
• You will be part of a global 24 X 7 on call team providing coverage to Storage and Backup infrastructure for support escalations off hours or project implementation
• Interacting with Global Storage team peers to support global storage infrastructure
• Reporting of all projects, incidents, problems and changes being addressed to Regional Storage Lead
• Actively reporting to Global Storage Lead or wider Extended Management team as deemed necessary

What We’re Looking For

• Associate degree or equivalent experience
• Experience as a Storage Administrator in a large organisation troubleshooting and problem solving issues with Storage and Backup infrastructures
• Experience of supporting, documenting, deploying and infrastructure migrations in a large Storage Infrastructure in an enterprise institution
• Working knowledge of scripting languages, Python, Perl, Java

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

• Working experience and knowledge of automation and scripting Storage based tasks
• Experience in a Global financial organization working as a Storage Administrator
• Subject Matter Expert level scripting experience and proven delivery of automated storage tasks in a large organisation
• Experience actively assisting storage infrastructure and backup issues within a tier 2/3-line support

You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations.
