Reference Data Technical Analyst

Glasgow

As a Barclays Reference Data Technical Analyst in the Reference Data team, you’ll be responsible for client data in the bank on a cross-asset basis. Implementing strategic change, future architectural planning, development and maintenance of strategic repositories which are both in-house and vendor supplied. The role requires a detailed, methodical, forward thinking individual with proven business and technical analysis experience in an IT-project environment.

What will you be doing?

  • Building, managing and prioritising feature teams backlogs (feature teams are aligned to specific reference data domains, Legal Entity, Accounts, SSI’s, Books)
  • Translating stakeholder requirements and business strategy into executable plans, and seeing these through to implementation
  • Partnering with internal and external leads across Architecture, Engineering, Programmes and Stakeholder community
  • Defining, leading and presenting key design requirements or changes to other/ central Design Authorities across Barclays
  • Chairing/ leading key meetings and working groups and providing new demand assessments
  • Ensuring and supporting project governance in following change life cycle, milestone management and RAID logs
  • Liaising with business change, operations and IT users at all levels, both within Barclays Group, and with external suppliers

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven Investment Banking and Client Reference Data knowledge
  • Proven business and functional analysis skills, particularly in a data domain
  • Proven data integration, data mastering, data distribution experience
  • Proven ability to analyse data, map data and design functional solutions according to best business benefit and distribution efficiency

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Working knowledge of Agile Development Lifecycle (SCRUM) and Lean Methodologies
  • Extensive experience of Master Data Management (MDM) modelling and data, lifecycle and product types, mainly bonds, equities and derivatives
  • Significant knowledge of Trade Settlements and Settlement Instruction, as well as client data and processes such as KYC (know-your-client)
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into functional requirements for technical usage
