Lead Data Warehouse Developer

As a Barclays Lead Data Warehouse Developer, you will support the Group Finance MI Team in defining and delivering the Group Finance MI Technology Strategy and Roadmap. You will focus on identifying opportunities in delivering business value via leveraging existing as well as adoption of the new Business Intelligence technology based on SAP platforms and platforms from other vendors (AWS). You may also be cross trained on SAP Analytics platforms (SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Business Objects) as well as on AWS Cloud.

We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?

• Building, test and deployment of Business Management Information applications based on SAP BW/4HANA, AWS Cloud and SAP Analytics Cloud platforms
• Supporting and influencing development standards and knowledge sharing process
• Providing expertise to the team in best practices and “know how” for SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Analytics cloud and AWS technologies
• Managing and coordinating deliverables among junior team members
• Facilitating problem root cause analysis among other teams
• Ensuring all developments are fully documented and meet high level design requirements
• Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements and Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in Delivery of Data Warehouse and Analytical applications in Finance Business area using mainstream (e.g. MS SQL, Oracle) or cloud (AWS) technologies
• Significant experience in SQL programming language or SAP ABAP
• Significant experience in design of Data Models (e.g. Star Schema’s) on one of mainstream Databases (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL) or SAP BW/4HANA or AWS (e.g. Athena, Redshift)
• Broad understanding and experience of working within an Agile methodology framework

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

• Experienced with SAP BW/4HANA Data modelling
• Previous experience with SAP Analytics Cloud
• Experienced with Amazon AWS
• Excellent understanding of SAP Finance core areas (General Ledger, PCA)

Where will you be working?

Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we’ve been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997.

We purchased the building from the landlord in early 2018 as a sign of our commitment to investment in Northampton. Plans to further develop this Campus-style location are under way to allow for a real collaborative work environment. Based just off the A45 it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
