Marketing Manger

Flexible UK Location

As a Barclays Marketing Manager within the Barclays UK (BUK) Social Media team, you will be responsible for the enablement of social media activity including paid and organic content for both of our key brands – Barclays and Barclaycard. The social media team is embarking on a project to become more customer and engagement focused, becoming a leading brand on social media. This role will lead our insights and listening capability and support BUK Marketing to use the Sprinklr tool.

This opportunity is location flexible. We will consider requests for locating the role at an alternative Barclays’ key UK office from that advertised.

Hybrid Working

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. What will you be doing?

  • Using data and insights to help plan well-considered and innovative marketing campaigns which deliver against the integrated marketing campaign plan objectives
  • Working alongside paid media agencies to develop robust paid media plans
  • Managing the implementation, tracking and measurement of marketing campaigns
  • Being an expert in using Sprinklr, and enable teams across BUK Marketing to get the best out of the application
  • Developing new capabilities utilising the technology we have available, and improve day to day effectiveness of social media
  • Working with governance and functional partners such as legal to improve agility
  • Monitoring competitor activity and social media conversations to explore opportunities for content teams to develop impactful, reactive content and strategies
  • Developing channel strategies and test new emerging platforms with interest

What We’re Looking For

  • Knowledge of using Sprinklr in a corporate setting preferred, but training can be provided if candidate is more familiar with alternative CX technology
  • Passion for data – ability to translate insights and data into actionable feedback to create cut-through social media campaigns which are customer first
  • Proactive approach – willing to spot something which can improved and take matters into their own hands to solve
  • Independent worker and team player – to be a great team player in a hard-working supportive team but also able to work independently on briefs and campaigns and update stakeholders when required

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Previous experience working alongside corporate communications, PR and paid media teams.
  • Confident to be able to challenge decisions and to provide recommendations on campaign briefs
  • Experience working in a matrix organisation with multiple stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • Demonstrable ability to create impactful & high quality communications and presentations.
