Salary GR5 – £36,371 – £44,624

If you could build a brighter future, what would you do?

Birmingham is a city on the move. Join our Property Services team and you can aim higher too. We’re a city with a vision. For our communities. For our people. For the future. Opportunity doesn’t wait. And neither do we. We’re building the Birmingham of tomorrow, using the largest property portfolio of its kind. Together, we can change millions of lives for the better.

Focusing on maintenance programmes, you can experience a large and varied land and property portfolio. Working closely with consultants and contractors, you should expect to deliver programmes of repairs and capital works across commercial, surplus property and operational portfolios. Finding cost-effective solutions that also ensure continuity of service to the public will be a key challenge. Your expertise will also be vital to procuring and managing goods and services.

Along with your ambition, you bring substantial experience of building maintenance and capital project work. Knowledge of building regulations, safety issues, codes of practice and other guidance is essential. The ability to manage performance and projects is important. With strong communication and negotiation skills, you also have the ability to manage and motivate other people. A RICs qualification is vital.

Thrive in an environment that promotes diversity and inclusivity, healthy lifestyle choices, wellbeing and balance. We’ll empower you to be the best you can be, with coaching, mentoring and training programmes that meet your professional and personal development needs at every stage of your career with us.

We also offer:

  • Family friendly policies.
  • A range of benefits, including membership of the West Midlands Pension Fund, discounted gym membership and a confidential employee assistance programme.
  • 29 days’ annual leave increasing with length of service, plus the option to purchase additional days.

You must upload a CV and Supporting Statement via the miscellaneous attachment on to your application. This is required for shortlisting; you need to describe how your experience and skills fit the essential criteria for the role as specified in the Person Specification. If you do not attach your Supporting Statement, your application will not be considered.
