Engineer – Property

For all Boots and other group properties, as a key individual in the engineering team you will help develop and drive the creation and governance of our specifications. From identification and definition through successful application by internal and external stakeholders you will be ensuring all our facilities operate effectively and efficiently whilst optimising full life costs.

You will have a key role in leading our innovation strategies, you will co-ordinate and lead technical investigations to successful conclusions and you will be seen as a subject matter expert across the specification processes and procedures

About the opportunity

  • Work with the engineering standards team in producing specifications across all discipline areas such as mechanical, electrical and building fabric
  • Co-ordination of activities with external building services consultancies to provide specification support across all disciplines
  • Responsible for the creation of strategies and policies associated with all major technical processes and systems
  • Responsible for the project management of engineering innovation activities
  • Auditing of properties to ascertain whether specifications have been adhered to in terms of design, installation and operation
  • Support internal teams so that they understand the design and commissioning processes and procedures


About you

  • You will be comfortable with leading change in a complex environment where processes span across multiple functions and disciplines.
  • Ideally a fully qualified engineer in a relevant subject with retail experience
  • Project management experience within a multi-site construction environment
  • Experienced in working with cross functional teams with multiple outsourced services
  • Ability to respond to operational issues as they occur whenever they occur
