This role will lead a regional operations team responsible for building resourcing/deployment plans and executing job allocation strategy to all engineers across the UK in providing excellent quality service to customers. The Area Planning & Allocation Manager leads a team in providing commercial analysis, continuous improvement, resource, forecast, deployment and allocation plans to area and senior managers within a UK region, mitigating risks that may impact customer service.

The Area Planning & Allocation Manager will

  • Lead a team of area Planning & Allocation team coaches and Planning & Allocation team members
  • Coach and develop the Planning & Allocation Teams in providing quality deliverables for their regions
  • Establish and enhance relationships with stakeholders and leaders accountable for managing regional engineers
  • Create and implement business efficiencies and strategies which enhance operations and customer service
  • Execute and streamline the UK region engineer resource deployment and allocation plan.
  • Effectively present to and influence stakeholders to maximise customer satisfaction.
  • Analyse and create improvement plans to improve performance, resource deployment and allocation plan accuracy.
  • Generate proposals, gain stakeholder buy-in and implement solutions that enhance business operations.
  • Meet financial targets and expectations to sustain commercial objectives.

You’ll Have The Following Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Lead and develop a regional team of Planning & Allocation team members in managing and building resource deployment & allocation customer service plans
  • Devise business and engagement strategies with senior leaders enable and deliver excellent customer service
  • Steer continous improvement and commercial efficiciencies
  • Sustaining engineer utilisation and organisation profitability
  • Member of working groups and forums to provide recommendations on the implementation of new products and services within our planning and allocation teams

Resource / Deployment / Allocation

  • Develop, gain buy-in, implement and regularly review effective resource utilisation & allocation plans with senior leaders
  • Analyse plans, identify trends and implement solutions
  • Manage and foresee risks, proactively resolve challenges and sustain team performance
  • Recruit contractors and team members to ensure regulatory targets are met or exceeded

Relationships

  • Establish and enhance relationships with senior stakeholders, managers, finance and business teams
  • Support regional area senior leaders and managers in realising their business and customer service strategy

Performance

  • Develop the team’s culture of system and performance improvement, engagement and collaboration
  • Steer root cause analysis investigations and solutions
  • Create and translate technical reports into simple and effective regional dashboards and communications
  • Identify skill gaps as applicable to properly resource and deploy engineer teams to customers
  • Ensure system settings and accurate and can aid automatic allocation strategy

You’ll Need To Have The Following Skills & Experience

  • Strong business acumen
  • Able to analyse and interpret technical forecasts, reports and utilisation metrics to provide pragmatic and customer-centric solutions and interventions and allocation strategies
  • Strategic influencer and hands on operational leader;
  • Strong numeric ability and ability to translate technical jargon into simple and effective presentations
  • Decisive and innovative team leader; creating and implementing ideas
  • Strong stakeholder and customer service management skills
  • Commercially aware of products and service offerings. Capitlises on current and foreseen opportunities.
  • Motivates, encourages, develops, coaches and inspires teams to develop and deliver true operational excellence
  • Team player, adept at holding others to account through a challenging, motivating and supportive leadership style, whilst consistently delivering on their own commitments
  • Will challenge the way things are done and promote a culture of proactive planning in favour of reactive manual interventions
