Industrial Placement – Digital Architecture

You’re not just looking for a career, you’re looking to make a difference.

Millions of people rely on us every day to help them live their lives, power their businesses, and keep their public services running. We connect friends to family, clients to colleagues, people to possibilities. We keep the wheels of business spinning, and the emergency services responding. And we use the power of technology to help solve big challenges, like climate change and cyber security.

From day one, you’ll have a voice at BT Group. You’ll get stuck in to tough challenges, pitch in with ideas, make things happen. You won’t be alone: we’ll be there with help and support, learning and development. You’ll make great friends, discover new talents, and feel part of something exhilarating.

This is your chance to make a real difference to the world. Grab it.

About This Role

Are you interested in being part of a team that turns cutting edge concepts into a reality? What about developing software systems that impact customers globally?

On our digital architecture industrial placement, you’ll be getting stuck into real life projects from day one, learning to work with the latest technologies and using your sense of innovation and creativity. You could be placed in the Cloud or in the Enablement team: regardless, you’ll be at the heart of innovation and extension of engineering quality. You’ll get the chance to explore the full lifecycle, and find out what you like, and what you don’t, all whilst driving outcomes through agile collaboration processes.

You could be a part of the Cloud Centre of Excellence – this team are the custodians of BT’s public cloud service offering. You would have the ability to see how BT is consuming Cloud from multiple vendors (Amazon, Google and Microsoft amongst others). You will be part of a team spearheading the deployment of Cloud services within BT, responsible for development, deployment, and upkeep.

You could also cover Enablement of Cloud, whereby you can see how we engage with the rest of the business to define requirements, refine solutions and guide teams through their Cloud journey, offering help, training and consultancy throughout. This also includes ensuring that the teams within BT are fully skilled: as part of Enablement, we have a team dedicated to learning and development. They create learning pathways, organise gaming days, assist employees in gaining accreditation and support existing teams on their journey.

This placement is available in the Digital part of our business.

Duration

Our industrial placements start in September and end in July.

Locations

Bristol

Entry Requirements

You must be in the Penultimate year of your degree course, on track to achieve a 2 -2 or above in a technical/IT-related degree (eg: Computer Science, Software Engineering…)
