Cyber Threat Intelligence Specialist

Locations: Birmmingham Bristol, Glasgow, Manchester or Newcastle

You are critical in supporting the ThreatCo Threat Intelligence Service. You deliver enriched and original actionable intelligence products for BT and commercial customers. You will also produce reports that are most critical in their timely completion and delivery. You are viewed by industry as an Expert in the field of Cyber Threat Intelligence, you significantly contribute to all Intelligence Sharing stakeholder relationships (commercial, HMG and LEA (UK and International)) representing BT and its mission. You articulate the global threat landscape, unacceptable risks and advise BT, partners and customers on mitigation strategies.

What you’ll do:

• Accountable to the IPU Manager to ensure that information and intelligence is identified, secured and preserved to enrich BT’s knowledge as ‘Customer Zero’.
• Responsible for collecting information about Internet-based, malware-related criminal activities and the people behind them; making predictions about cyber criminals and their future activities based on what is already known about them and the creation of threat intelligence reports that communicate the results of the analyses to people who need to know.
• You will understand the global cyber threat landscape, identify unacceptable risks and advise BT and its partners on appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Collaborates with colleagues across BT (Security and Portfolio) to understand customer requirements and provide documents and material to direct and enrich customer interaction.
• Accountable for owning and maintaining problem profiles regarding ATP specific, geographic, sector and threat sector attack methodologies.
• Required to make predictions about cyber criminals and their future activities based on what is already known about them and the creation of threat intelligence reports that communicate the results of the analyses to people who need to know them.
• Responsible for maintaining Continued Professional Development in relation to Cyber / Information Security recognised accreditation (such as COMP TIA, CISSP etc).
• Responsible for providing intelligence support to real time cyber threat incidents, identifying opportunities to enrich BT’s knowledge of threat and customer specific vulnerabilities. Ensures the learning from such events are evaluated and disseminated for benefit of BT, its people and its customers internal and external).

You’ll definitely:

• Story-telling with data: strong skills in explaining complex situations and represent BT as the Subject Matter Expert on Cyber Threat Intelligence; with the ability to present Technical Intelligence Briefs to MD/C-level, technical and technology teams/SMEs and non-technical audiences.
• Visual & Written skills: Very strong visual & written skills to ensure the outputs, printed products and assessments are market / industry leading – insight and actionable.
• Is a Subject Matter Expert in relation to threat, harm and risk from cyber threats and all aspects of the MITRE ATT&CK Framework.
• Possesses and maintains professional and academic qualifications in wide range of technical / cyber threat tools and techniques.
• Possess highly developed research and analytical skills to understand data and pinpoint statistically significant patterns related to cyber threats
• Will support media activity to raise the BT brand in the CTI space by supporting output (regular whitepapers, blogs, podcasts, commentary on major breaches, conference circuit)

• Recognised Industry Intelligence subject matter expert and thought leader with a track record of speaking at senior levels and in forums on intelligence matters – presenting facts, findings along with comments and informed assessments (Mandatory)
• Extensive experience of stakeholder management and influencing skills to peers both internally and externally. (Mandatory)
• Track record of developing and delivering Intelligence products (analysis, reports, whitepapers, insights) from detailed technical threats up to geo-political analysis. (Mandatory)
