About This Job Role

The purpose of this role is to ensure that the scope of the assigned technical project delivery is understood, that the technical solution meets the business need, that plans are comprehensive and are achieved. This role is accountable from the business scoping of a technical deliverable through benefits realisation, functional and non-functional. The role is accountable for multiple complex small to medium sized technical deliveries or a single large technical delivery, including producing and agreeing the technical delivery plan, reporting, risk and issue management.

This role provides the technical wrap to support the delivery of the allocated project that requires a technical delivery. The Project management Professional acts as the interface into the Strategic Delivery Manager and Project Manager (where applicable)and the lead stakeholders by managing the resourcing, planning, reporting and all aspects of the technical deliveries from the inception of the project through to delivery, warranty and closure ensuring that the identified business benefit is achieved.

Main Responsibilities

  • Leading – Coordinating virtual teams (<60), working with a small selection of known external partners and suppliers, to deliver against business objectives.
  • Influencing – Using business and domain expertise to affect project outcomes
  • Planning – E2E planning of projects, including resources, negotiating and securing resources as required.
  • Negotiating – Interlocking project with dependencies and dependant projects, securing prioritisation and alignment as required.
  • Driving – E2E ownership of project. Ensure delivery to time, budget and quality as expected.
  • Governing – responsible for project governance, budget management (<£1m), risk, issue and change management for the entire project.

Main Skills/Experiences Required

  • Industry recognised Project Management Qualification.
  • Ability to effectively lead the team, taking actions and decisions with autonomy.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills across a range of internal and external suppliers, partners and sponsors. Up to ‘Director of’.
  • Ability to engage key stakeholders to logically plan a delivery, based on a requirement, reaching an ageed and underpinned plan for delivery.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Technology products and services.
  • Professional experience delivering small to medium sized projects (<£1m) within a Gated Project Governance process.
