Why This Job Matters

This role is instrumental in the driving and delivery of our Collaboration Tools and Practices for Colleague Services. The role is an integral part of the Modern Workplace team, which delivers and supports workplace technologies and collaboration tools for the entire BT Group. The roleholder will be a key player and technical decision maker in the Messaging space, shaping the future strategy of the platform.

Your Responsibilities

  • Day to day technical management, delivery, maintenance, upgrade of end-to-end email systems and services, along with other communications and collaboration technologies.
  • Operates as mail platform subject matter expert, guiding Colleagues to the right solution for their needs, in line with Colleagues Services strategy.
  • Key contributor and provide expert advice to other groups on technical and operational issues.
  • Drive innovation into the customer accounts, support business development activity. ensures that the solution/s offer minimum delivery and operational risk and lifetime total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • This role would be applied across all technical and solution aspects, spanning network, systems and process. This would be following agreed policies of the platforms/domains.
  • Functional and non-functional requirements. Provide the technical architecture for the e2e solution for small-medium contract, or working on a larger or more complex contract with a Senior Solution Architect.
  • Responsible for identifying cost saving / margin improvement initiatives within a contract based on solution or service optimisation.
  • Consults and advises senior stakeholders, internally and in a multi-vendor environment

Skills Required

Exchange SME- looking to the Office 365 road map to keep abreast of future changes.

In Depth Understanding of the Following:

  • Exchange Architecture – best practice for the design of a solution to suit various different requirements for messaging On Premise, Hybrid & Online
  • SPF, DKIM and DMARC
  • Microsoft and non-Microsoft Email Hygiene/Gateway Products
  • Mail relay technologies

Understanding of Some of the Following Would be Advantageous:

  • Development and testing skills including PowerShell and Perl
  • understanding of directories and LDAP
  • Power Platform
  • Azure Integrations / Applications / Automation
  • Authentication
  • App Proxy
  • MS Licensing

Experience Administering Through:

  • GUI
  • Graph API
  • PowerShell
