Power Installation & Network Engineer

About This Role

Engineering is a large multi-disciplined ‘professional services’ engineering practice. The team is organised in key customer focused capabilities which each have sub-capability areas comprising single or multiple engineering delivery projects. Our Engineering mantra is “Technical Excellence in Engineering” and we deliver some amazing technical capabilities for our customers which can only happen if we recruit, train and support our people.

This role is for an International Assignment in Europe for 2-3 years with all the correct BT terms and conditions for an assignment.

Due to the sensitive nature of this role you may be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

You’ll Have The Following Responsibilities

  • Deliver customer networks, platforms and systems in support of ourselves and special customers
  • Deliver and operate these services within agreed performance standards and contractual agreements whilst operating within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Has defined authority and responsibility for a significant area of work covering technical responsibilities.
  • Establishes technical objectives and delegates responsibilities.
  • Influences a significant part of own organisation and influences customers/suppliers and industry at a senior management level (e.g. around resourcing of delivery teams and technical direction of work).
  • Directs work resourcing, owns site issues and resolution of problems
  • Performs technical coaching and mentoring

You’ll Have The Following Skills & Experience

  • Power system installation- AC & DC power systems, UPS, HVAC with current electrical qualifications.
  • Clerk of Works experience and history of delivering construction projects and site upgrades.
  • Knowledge of Transmission Network and management platforms
  • Must have strong communication and client interfacing skills, with demonstrated ability to articulate complex technical concepts in a manner understandable and useful to a business and executive audience
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication (including strong technical writing skills), as well as presentation, facilitation, coaching and mentoring skills
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple concurrent projects, perform under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to clearly capture requirements.
  • Good relationship management skills with a dedicated and positive attitude
  • Innovative approach to technical solutions and service quality
