Being a data project manager within the Chief Engineer’s team, you will be responsible for working with key teams across Chief Engineers to help develop reporting and insight that will allow those business units to work smarter with data. They will spend less time making manual reporting via excel and be using new technologies like Qlik to enable more time actioning data rather than creating the insight to be actioned.

You’ll Have The Following Responsibilities

  • Working with the wider Chief Engineering teams, such as planning, field teams, to help built strategic reporting to support the flow of FTTP build in the end to end build.
  • The successful candidate will possess deep hands-on technical expertise in Oracle, Qlik analysis and insight. Prior experience in the Openreach domain would be a distinct advantage.
  • Responsible for creating clear and full documentation of any data and analytical work that is completed. Using GIT to document code respositories.
  • Relationship management – taking personal responsibility for key stakeholders on behalf of the projects; working closely with the operational sponsors to manage the relationships; co-ordinating the activities of the teams to mobilise the programme
  • Forecasting project risks and communicating them to senior managers within the team, whilst proposing risk mitigation strategies to address identified issues.
  • Leading multifunctional teams to drive high levels of performance and quality and to ensure fibre projects are delivered on time and within the budget across the patch.
  • Accountable for successful delivery of projects, from design through build, deployment, and handover into sustain with the change being considered as BAU.
  • Communicate out new reporting and insight to key stakeholders with accuracy and data reassurance so they are able to action and make decisions for the best.

You’ll Need To Have The Following Skills And Experience

  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to develop insight and reporting teams needs at pace on strategic platforms.
  • Ability to build and deploy Qlik sense applications.
  • Comfortable working with big data.
  • Strong SQL Skills to perform queries in Datalabs or similar to exploit data.
  • Strong Excel Skills
  • Experience in managing multiple small-scale projects at once.
  • Good Stakeholder management. Confident in engaging with stakeholders across any area of the business.
  • Ability to coach and encourage other to learn and develop.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to solve complicated data issues.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the FTTP network from end to end to be able to use data to aid FTTP delivery.
  • Be willing to learn and use Jira Confluence and GIT to manage tasks and track changes within your own work
