About This Role

This is a 12 month Fixed-Term Contract.

The purpose of this role is to work with Global Tax, Treasury and Statutory Reporting Team supporting BT Global’s transformation program in the areas of entity rationalisation, tax reporting and tax compliance management. The key responsibility of the role will be the efficient transition of tax compliance and reporting activities to the recently appointed outsource partner.

You’ll Have The Following Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Global Tax Lead, Tax Transformation Director, and senior members of BT Global’s Finance Leadership Team to deliver the tax strategy for BT Global
  • Work collaboratively with the Regional Tax Managers, coordinating their activities and help establishing a common set of roles and responsibilities thereby creating a community across the AMEA and Europe regions
  • Hold responsibility for the transition and delivery of the new tax compliance and tax accounting/reporting outsource arrangements
  • Focus on the delivery of changes in tax management across BT Global AMEA and Europe regions, with a focus on tax compliance, tax risk management, tax audit management, tax resources development and first line of defence activities
  • Work with the Global Tax Lead to roll out BT tax policies across BT Global AMEA and Europe regions
  • Hold responsibility for the management of tax relevant input to BT Global’s dividend and entity liquidation programmes
  • Support the Group Tax Reporting Team in the preparation of annual tax reporting provisions in relation to BT Global AMEA and Europe regions

You’ll Have The Following Skills & Experience

  • Qualified Accountant and/or CIOT with significant post-qualification experience
  • International/UK and transactional tax experience
  • Experience in project management, influencing and collaborating with non-tax personnel
  • Experience in the identification of tax technical issues and their resolution
  • Strong understanding of tax processes and control frameworks as applied to international businesses and the delivery of process improvements
