This role is instrumental in the driving and delivery of our Collaboration Tools and Practices within Colleague Services and the wider BT Group.

The roleholder will be a Subject Matter Expert in Modern Workplace technologies and platforms and ensure strategic and technical alignment between our Modern Workplace strategy and the wider Colleague Services objectives.

Responsibilities

End-to-end technical management, delivery, upgrade of collaboration and engagement tools and solutions within Colleague Services, with a strong focus on the SharePoint platform, along with other M365 and 3rd party technologies.

  • Operates as a SharePoint subject matter expert, guiding Colleagues to the right solution for their needs, in line with Colleagues Services strategy.
  • Has an in-depth understanding of on-premise versions of SharePoint (2010/2013/2016) and SharePoint Online.
  • Experience migrating complex environments to SharePoint Online.
  • Experience administering collaboration tools and Office 365 workloads.
  • Experience working with other SMEs, on-shore and off-shore teams.
  • Key contributor and provide expert advice to other groups on technical and operational issues.
  • Drive innovation into the customer accounts, support business development activity.
  • Being able to work with stakeholders at different levels throughout the business.
  • This role will operate across all technical and solution aspects, spanning networks, systems and processes. This would be following agreed policies of the platforms/domains. Functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Provide the technical architecture for the e2e solution for small-medium engagements, or working on a larger or more complex contract with a Senior Solution Architect. Responsible for identifying cost saving / margin improvement initiatives within a contract based on solution or service optimisation.

Skills Required

Office 365 SME- aware of MS road map to keep abreast of future changes. I

In depth understanding of the following:

  • SharePoint on-premise and online, including customisations through CSOM, SPFx, wsp
  • Power Platform (in particular Power Apps, Power Automate)
  • Graph APIs
  • PowerShell

Experience administering SharePoint and M365/Azure elements through:

  • GUI Graph
  • API
  • PowerShell

Understanding of some of the following would be advantageous:

  • Development and testing skills
  • Active Directory and Identity Management
  • Azure Integrations / Applications / Automation Authentication
  • MS Licensing
