You’ll Have The Following Responsibilities

(You will be part of the Solution Architecture team in the cloud centre of excellence and will be expected to work with Enterprise Cloud Architect, Principal Security Architects, Cloud platform engineering, Cloud enablement and Solution Architects from CFU(s) to execute BT’s Public Cloud strategy.)

As a Cloud Solutions Architect on AWS and GCP Cloud:

You are expected to work with application teams to guide them in building the right solution on cloud. This will involve guidance on choosing the right cloud services to solve the business problem and will ensure the solution is built as per Well Architected frameworks.

You are expected to be part of Cloud governance framework to review and approve Solution designs prepared by application teams.

You’ll experiment with technology – running trials, proofs of concept and even building minimum viable products to accelerate our journey

You are expected to Author and maintain cloud design patterns in multiple cloud technologies related to Compute, Database, Integration, Identity, Messaging, and other important topics on cloud.

You will be involved in documenting Security principles as a reference document to build secure applications on Cloud. The security principles must be based on Zero Trust, CIS, and other relevant benchmarks.

You will create security reference architectures that will be referred by application or migration teams to architect solutions weaving in the various security solutions offered by the cloud vendors.

You will work closely with the refactoring team to assist them adopt security best practices as part of their refactoring journey to cloud.

You will work closely with the cloud platform engineering team to ensure the cloud services are enabled only after the services are vetted from a security perspective.

You will convert the Pattern and RA solution building blocks to code – i.e. – “Pattern as a Code”, and “Reference Architectures” as a code to fasten adoption of cloud by providing consumers code to deploy cloud patterns and RA.

You’ll Have The Following Skills & Experience

  • Experience as a Cloud Architect for 3 + years, in a large organisation.
  • We need candidates with strong Hands-on experience in architecting and building solutions on cloud using native services on AWS, and/or GCP.
  • Experience in deploying infrastructure or applications using Terraform or Cloud Formation templates.
  • Experience in building cloud native or Jenkins based CI/CD Pipeline and usage of GitHub.
  • Experience in migrating applications to cloud using common migration strategies – “The 6 R’s”
  • Familiar with security architecture, particularly its application into cloud & infrastructure environments
  • Hands-on experience of Cloud Computing, security services like WAF, Security Hub, GCP Security Command Centre and infrastructure systems,
  • Associate Level Architecture Certificate is a mandatory requirement and good to have Professional level Architecture certification on AWS and/or GCP or be capable and willing to become so
  • Architecture Frameworks including TOGAF, and their relevance to the practice of Architecture. TOGAF certification not essential
  • A broad range of business, data, systems, and technology architecture experience.
