Governance and Contract Support Professional – Birmingham, London or Glasgow

About This Role

The Governance and Contract Support Professional will be responsible for providing key central governance activities across all funded programmes and the MDU Programme, leading for a specific Region. They will track the controls and compliance compliance activity at contract level, supporting the Infrastructure Development Director, Regional Directors and contract/account managers on the key mandatory activities of the contracts and the MDU Programme.

You will support and guide the business unit in the execution and delivery of the programmes. They will ensure that the programmes delivery team work in partnership and use insight and reporting to demonstrate the progress of our contracts and our adherence to our obligations across the programmes. They will attend the Regional Operational Boards, gaining approval of the contract key controls dashboards.

You will work closely with Contract Managers to support in the management of the controls of the programmes and ensure these are presented correctly and signed off. Communications and key briefings will be written by the Governance and Contract Support professional, producing bulletins with key information and keep an auditable trail of these in a secure library. Contract Support will be offered to all contract/account managers in order to pursue delivery of our obligations and demonstrate governance over our programmes.

You’ll Have The Following Responsibilities

  • Attendance at Regional Boards, presenting the key control dashboard for each contract within the Region and supporting the Contract Managers/account manager
  • Tracking of key controls for each contract and programme, producing a dashboard each month and providing an aggregated view each quarter
  • Writing and publishing key briefings and communications that impact the Programmes, keeping a secure auditable library of all briefings with clear sign off for each briefing in place
  • Work across the teams to provide support to all Regional Directors, contract and account managers in the execution of the contracts and controlsObligation tracking, working with contract/account managers to capture progress, highlighting where focus is required and escalating to the appropriate contract/account manager or Regional Director as appropriate
  • Working across teams and part of a team including Contract Managers, Account Managers, Finance, Delivery and Legal. to re-enforce good governance within the funded and MDU programmes, Being part of a driven team developing a well organised and motivated approach to Governance
  • Engaging and inspiring the team to deliver innovative solutions focused on delivering sustainable business benefits
  • Developing collaborative working relationships across the business to support excellent governance

You’ll Have The Following Skills & Experience

  • Strong Programme/Project management delivery
  • Experience of end to end delivery of programme plans and strategy
  • A team player, adept at holding others to account through a challenging and supportive leadership style, whilst consistently delivering on their own commitments
  • Ability to cut through barriers to bring real clarity and focus to key stakeholders to ensure successful programme delivery for our customers
  • Ability to work across the SID team and wider business to ensure we fulfil the Openreach medium to long term vision
