The purpose of this role is to manage and transform BT’s SDWAN and Virtual Private networks (design, develop, test and support). This role leads in the development of new technology and change to an embedded agile, devops engineering culture – enabling sustainable, profitable growth and maintenance of networks that support the diverse business needs of not just Global Services but the wider BT portfolio.
This role is accountable for:
- Providing strong technical leadership (across network / network design / test / automation) through providing technical direction in complex and typically unknown network and/or customer solution scenario’s
- Leading on new and emerging technology areas (network / software)
- Accountable for commercial decisions as appropriate to the role and accountable for the impact of technical and commercial decisions on wider network lifecycle.
- Driving business performance, efficiency and continuous improvement within/ the team.
- Delivering positive engagement and organisational health across the team, including resource planning, and team development.
- Managing stakeholders across the BT organisation.
Experience needed;
- Accomplished and experienced leader of large technology team.
- Significant experience in networks / software and real world exposure to DevOps
- Successful track-record of developing world-class skills across a large team.
- Strong collaboration skillis.
- Ability to lead teams through significant change and develop an innovative, challenging and supportive team culture.
