About The Role

This role is responsible for creating messaging and engaging content that brings our products and services to life for business customers. This could include messaging guides, brochures, videos, animations, website content, infographics, blogs, factsheets, demo tools, social media and customer case studies.

Working closely with the Propositions, Brand and other Shared Service Marketing teams, they will have responsibility for briefings, messaging development, content creation and content sign-off, as well as considering the distribution plan for maximising the reach of finished content. This includes working closely with external agencies to create the content assets, ensuring they meet the needs of all stakeholders. The role will also need to work closely with the Digital teams, to ensure that content for the website works from an SEO perspective.

The purpose of the role is to create a consistent story for how to talk about our products and services across BT Enterprise, to inform all communications to customers and internal teams, translating into one clear positioning for our end customers. This will also involve continuously looking at customer insight and industry best practice, and discovering exciting new ways to deliver our content to ensure maximum customer engagement.

The role will also enable you to develop your writing skills as we anticipate you being able to generate content from written briefs that can then be utilised across various comms channels.

Role Responsibilities

  • Creating messaging and engaging product content across a range of formats (messaging guides, brochures, factsheets, videos, animations, website content, infographics, blogs, demo tools, customer case studies)
  • Working with marketing agencies, from briefing to content development and sign-off
  • Working with a range of stakeholders from across the business for feedback and input on content activities
  • Keeping up to date with market and customer insight to inform content
  • Proactively looking for opportunities for new content formats and researching the latest industry trends
  • Reporting on content KPIs, using these to benchmark performance and continuously improve our content
  • Looking for efficiency opportunities e.g. copywriting in house, reducing agency rounds of amends, maximising the usage of content assets across segments
  • Inputting into distribution plans to maximise content reach and engagement, through internal and external channels

Skills And Experience

  • Analytical with strong attention to detail: Insight-led, ability to align activity to customer needs and market trends
  • Strong stakeholder management & relationship building: confidence to talk with and influence customers, stakeholders, external partners and sales teams. Influencing and strong communication skills with an ability to work across the business.
  • Ability to translate marketing strategy into executional customer facing content that drives customer engagement: able to translate product information into customer needs led marketing messages. Either with agencies – so experienced in briefing agencies or by yourself. Great writing skills and a flair for content creation
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills: able to work on projects, under pressure and to deadlines. Keeping activity on budget. Self-motivated, articulate and ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Demonstrable experience working in a marketing content role – preferably within B2B marketing.
  • Copywriting and content creation experience
