Job Title: Accounting and Financial Control Manager – Enterprise

About This Role

BT are recruiting for Accounting and Financial Control Manager to join the organisation on a permanent basis, this role can be based out of London or Bristol office with flexible hybrid working,

This role will consolidate, control, challenge and communicate accurate financial reporting for the Enterprise Customer Facing Unit (‘CFU’) and the Enterprise central functions unit whilst ensuring compliance requirements are met.

You’ll Have The Following Responsibilities

  • To work on various aspects of Enterprise reporting including presentation of the financial information to key stakeholders
  • Application of IFRS and group accounting policies to the financial information.
  • Deliver and manage internal and external reporting for actuals (monthly, quarterly and annual), including financial KPIs for Enterprise Central Functions
  • Deliver and manage financial planning and analysis for Enterprise Central Functions
  • Engage with internal and external auditors on process and controls covered by the Enterprise reporting team
  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place that meet audit standard
  • Act as a key contact with Group, FP&A, HR and other CFUs for matters relating to Enterprise’s financial reporting and accounting
  • You will have the opportunity for role and task rotation with peers in the Enterprise reporting team
  • Support Senior Finance Manager with any ad hoc queries or projects arising from different stakeholders

You’ll Have The Following Skills & Experience

  • Leverages knowledge from multiple functional areas and anticipates impact of future requirements. Understands and consistently applies an advanced knowledge and understanding of company financial statements, accounting principles
  • Mitigates and remediates gaps in controls through addressing control weaknesses, recommending alternatives and developing approaches to mitigate. Defines specific control project scope and approach and plans and completes controls advisory projects for financial systems and functions
  • Oversees and reviews the financial and operational analysis for Enterprise Central Functions. Develops complex business cases that may impact numerous parts of the business. Provides in-depth commentary that reflects understanding of wider operating environment
  • Provides detailed feedback and insight to the business on its financial performance
  • Manages relationships with external and internal stakeholders, including external auditors. Is accountable for the accounting interpretation, treatment, completeness and accuracy
  • Responsible for the financial planning and analysis of Enterprise Central Functions
  • Qualified accountant
