About The Service

A vacancy has arisen within the Accounts Receivable Team based at City Hall Cardiff for a Senior Accounts Receivable Assistant, there will also be the opportunity to become involved with other aspect of recovery work including administrative duties in respect of unpaid Council Tax, Business Rates, Parking Fines and Moving Traffic Offences.


About the job

The successful applicant will join a small busy Team and will work closely with a range of Service Areas across the Council who raise invoices for issue to service users for payment for council services.

Duties include the interrogation of the SAP system, dealing with incoming calls from the public to process payments and to negotiate payment arrangements, the amendment of invoice balances and the issue of copy invoices to both customers and Council Service Areas.


What We Are Looking For From You

You will be a highly motivated individual educated to GCSE standard in five or more subjects who is able to work under pressure as the post requires daily deadlines to be met. In addition, records must be monitored and maintained, therefore good IT skills are essential.

The position involves daily telephone contact with members of the public; therefore, it is essential that you can demonstrate confident and assertive communication skills and strong negotiation skills are desirable.

You should have experience of working in a busy office environment and should have the ability to work as part of a team and be able to follow complex procedures. Ideally you should also have experience of dealing with the public and handling incoming calls, and you should demonstrate a flexible approach to work as the duties are many and varied and workloads are high.

To undertake this role, you will need to demonstrate:
