Rent Smart Wales delivers a Registration and Licensing Scheme for landlords and agents of rented property across Wales. This follows the designation of Cardiff Council as the Single Licensing Authority for Wales. Its aim is to secure safe and well managed property for tenants by making sure that those who let out and manage property are fit and proper to do so, understand their legal obligations and comply with requirements placed on them through the application of law and licence conditions. About the job
The Assistant Marketing and Communications Officer will assist in the delivery of the overall Rent Smart Wales marketing strategy to ensure landlords and agents in Wales are aware of their legal responsibilities under the Housing (Wales) Act 2014. Working closely with the Marketing and Communications Officer, this role will involve developing effective communications and marketing, planning and delivery, as well as maintaining good working relationships with key industry stakeholders to support Rent Smart Wales campaigns and projects. The post-holder will actively work with the Council’s Communications & Media team in the development and delivery of key projects and activities (internal and external) to support Rent Smart Wales communication priorities and to ensure management of brand reputation.
What We Are Looking For From You
The successful candidate will: – Be educated to degree level or demonstrable experience (2+ years) in a marketing / communications team undertaking relevant work – Be a Fluent Welsh speaker (to Advanced Level 4) – Have excellent communication skills both written and oral and a high level of inter-personal skills. – Be able to demonstrate evidence of delivering a communications / marketing campaign with successful results – Have demonstrable skills in a range of marketing disciplines including, Media relations, Branding, Exhibitions, Market research, Email Marketing, Social Media Management, Direct Mail, Copywriting and Editing skills. – Be a competent IT users, familiar with a range of appropriate software including MS Office – Have experience of utilising design software found within the Adobe Creative Cloud e.g. InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator (desirable)
