£135,000 – £145,000 plus excellent benefits (Work Level 3)
Manchester city centre plus occasional travel

We’re looking for a Head of Supply Chain to optimise and advance our retail supply chain, making sure that we’re delivering the exceptional and dependable retail service that our customers expect.

In this role you’ll lead a multi-disciplinary change team, working collaboratively across our retail operations teams, making sure that we’re always providing new value for Co-op customers, members and suppliers. As well as engaging in high levels of research, development and test and trials, you’ll also be developing important relationships whilst you inspire and motivate your team with an end goal of establishing a Co-op hub of supply expertise.

What you’ll do

  • develop and deliver our supply chain development strategy, with a focus on optimising SAP to deliver excellent business performance
  • set up and lead a cross functional, multi-disciplinary team to advance our end to end supply chain, creating P&L and cash value
  • build and maintain strong, positive cross functional relationships both internally and externally, with a range of suppliers
  • be an ambassador of new and innovative ways of working, whilst defining and implementing the operating model required to make them sustainable
  • establish lateral governance to enable decisions at pace
  • lead research and development in the areas of buying and movement of goods to continually identify cost saving opportunities
  • work closely with our suppliers to improve end to end flow of goods by crafting a strategic plan
  • define benefit vs. capex and deliver against these
  • identify key metrics, owners and cross functional accountabilities and contract these
This role would suit people who have

  • exceptional leadership skills with real passion and dynamism, you’ll look to create a collaborative and integrated culture across our supply chain
  • proven SAP experience and excellent technical knowledge, relating to end-to-end supply chain management
  • strong commercial awareness with up-to-date knowledge of new trends, innovation, and market activity
  • a genuine curiosity around systems and processes with the confidence to identify and implement change where necessary
  • sound understanding of legal and regulatory requirements, policies and procedures
  • advanced level of commercial and financial acumen with the ability to develop strong cross functional relationships at all levels
  • experience of leading large and complex programmes of changes, steering the development of new operating models whilst inspiring and engaging colleagues through change
  • experience of creating and re-engineering processes to simplify ways of working and improve productivity
  • evidence of handling complexity and providing simplicity for teams so that complex issues, ideas and plans are effectively translated and delivered
  • the ability to collate and present mass data and insight creatively, ready to use in effective decision making
