This role provides an opportunity to join the Controls Team as an Accounting Technician.

The Controls Team are responsible for ensuring the Council’s key finance processes and banking activities are maintained, controlled and developed in line with the Council’s priorities and objectives.

The role will provide financial support and advice to specific areas of activity. This support will include financial information to assist budgetary control, budget setting and the closure of accounts as well as the maintenance of accounts and accounting information. The team ensures that reconciliations, journals and adhoc reporting requirements are completed on time so that underlying data can be relied upon for reporting and financial control.

Working through the Business Reporting Managers and as part of a pooled function the role will assist in the preparation of the detailed financial plans, budgets and forecasts of income and expenditure to corporate standards.

The role will provide support to the Council’s Business Reporting Managers, Accountants and Controls Team.
