We are looking for a professional who has these interests and who has working experience of children, young people and family services commissioning, to join the commissioning team.

We are working with our colleagues in health, the voluntary sector and interested stakeholders to shine a light on new and emerging practice to support us in working creatively towards new solutions that make a real difference in people’s lives. We are looking for an applicant who can join our team. You will have a recognised degree or relevant professional qualification or equivalent, e.g. SEND, youth, social work, but not excluding exceptional record of relevant achievement allied with a range of practice experience.

The successful applicant will manage a portfolio of contracts across young people and families, with a particular focus on families; ensuring that they are performing in accordance with the contractual obligations and are delivering quality and value for money to meet the needs of children, young people and their families. The role will include all aspects of service commissioning, including leading strategies, designing service specifications and monitoring the impact of delivery against outcomes and key performance indicators.

About you – skills and knowledge:

You will have a recognised degree or relevant professional qualification or equivalent, e.g. SEND, youth, social work, but not excluding exceptional record of relevant achievement allied with a range of practice experience.

You will be able to demonstrate sound working knowledge and experience of local authority, health, education and social care commissioning, contracting and market management, with experience of commissioning and strategy formulation. Experience of undertaking this in partnership, particularly joint commissioning with Education, Health, Care.
