The Procurement Manager – IT (12-month maternity cover) is primarily accountable for the end-to-end procurement of Security across the Costa Estate, both locally and globally, alongside Digital, Finance and HR.

A bit about the role…

Reporting to the Head of IT Procurement, the Procurement Manager – IT is currently a UK&I role but will expand to a global remit as the Costa business grows.

Category Responsibilities:

  • Primarily manage end to end procurement of security locally and globally for everything IT related, as well as other functional areas across Digital, Finance and HR
  • Growing and diversifying the supply base to support Costa’s global brand growth
  • Supporting innovation and IT transformation as Costa expands Globally
  • Manage Total Cost of Ownership of key strategic changes to the IT Roadmap
  • Develop Category Strategy Plans within this area

There is no current line management responsibility, but leadership, strategy, stakeholder management, project management and negotiation skills are important elements of the role.

The role is suitable for someone who is a self-starter, comfortable working in ambiguity, and who likes developing new solutions and problem-solving.

The role holder will be expected to take ownership of and challenge stakeholder decisions to drive best value and total cost of ownership. Therefore, strong stakeholder management skills are required, along with proficiency in contract law, complex problem-solving skills, good market insight, executing RFPs, contract negotiation and management, with excellent commercial negotiating skills.

  • A graduate or equivalent and / or MCIPS qualified with significant relative experience in managing IT categories and global transformation projects
  • Experience of Procurement strategy development and implementation
  • Procurement execution (business requirements analysis, market analysis, sourcing strategy, tender, negotiation, contract award, supplier management etc)
  • Ability to deliver tangible results across a range of objectives
  • Relationship management and Influencing – Able to communicate & influence effectively at senior / Executive levels
  • Project Management – Able to lead cross-functional projects and deliver results to agreed timescales
  • Broad understanding and associated procurement best practice at a global level
  • Fully conversant with a broad range of sourcing strategies required to underpin corporate strategies
