The Role

Working together as part of the Analytics Engineering and Data Platforms team and reporting to one of our Analytics Engineering Manager’s, your role will be to implement, maintain and support our data and analytics platforms and tooling. You’ll also help provide analysts, data scientists, engineers and many other business users with the self-service tools and systems they need to do their work more efficiently.

The initial focus of this role will be to support our Snowflake data platform and the associated data engineering and data transformation pipelines. This includes developing and enhancing pipelines for core, highly reused data sets and setting the standards and patterns for use by domain specific Analytics Engineering teams. There will also be opportunities implement and enhance the other components that make up our analytics platform, including Looker (data modelling and visualisation), Castor (data catalogue), Prefect (task orchestration), Carto (geospatial location data platform), Fivetran (data integration), data quality tooling (tbc) and further data science tooling.

Important tasks will include the development of enhancements and new features, systems administration and configuration, monitoring, user support, technical optimisation and resolution of bugs/incidents.

Skillset

We want to emphasise that we don’t expect you to meet all of the below but we would love for you to have experience in some of the following areas:

  • Experience implementing and/or maintaining and supporting modern data warehouse/analytics platforms (ideally Snowflake)
  • Data engineering and data transformation pipelines
  • Expertise in modern, agile software development processes
  • Awareness of principles and practices of delivering modern analytics capabilities at scale
  • Working knowledge of SQL and at least one coding language (ideally Python)
