Join our team of dedicated HR professionals within the Reward CoE acting as an internal consultant to our business leaders to establish and shape the reward strategy, policy and processes across the UK Firm.

Effectively rewarding our employees is critical to the success of the Deloitte business. As a member of the Total Reward team you will play a key role in all aspect of our annual reward activities, including benchmarking pay practices, providing insights and specialist expertise, identifying methods to improve processes and engaging with a range of stakeholders and ensure the successful delivery of our annual pay review process.

You will engage directly with senior business stakeholders and HR colleagues providing expert Reward advice and commercially focused solutions. You will shape and ensure lead the delivery of our firm-wide reward strategy, you will contribute to, and will lead specific complex projects. We are adopting an agile approach to work and you will be asked to focus on specific areas of the business, the reward agenda or to provide reward input to cross functional projects as required.

You are a self-starter and will be expected to work with significant levels of independence under the supervision of the Total Reward Director.

Your role

As a part of this team, you will be involved with the following:

  • Design and refine our core reward processes in accordance with Total Reward Strategy. Taking a lead role for delivering core firm-wide and team or service line specific projects, and supporting the broader team in shaping our overall approach
  • Acting as an internal consultant you will evaluate (and reflect where appropriate) the specific needs of service lines / regions / talent offerings into our policy.
  • You will identify opportunities for continuous operational process improvement
  • Your scope may encompass all elements of our reward offerings, including but not limited to our approach to base salary determination and review, annual and ad-hoc bonus programs, recognition programs and benefit and pensions provision. As such you will have a strong reward and benefit expertise with subject matter expertise in many areas, including across Performance, reward and benefit programs, market data and data analytics, reward systems and reward regulations.
  • You will build trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders within the HR function and the business – including but not limited to Service Line HR Directors, People and Purpose Partners and COOs and CFOs
  • You need excellent presentation skills – being able to construct commercial, data-driven, proposals, that inform and engage your audience and which lead to efficient decision-making. You will make an impact by drawing conclusions and sound recommendations through informed design.
  • You will excel in framing business problems and requirements and will successfully align our off-shore team to support in the delivery and execution of these (for both short-term projects and long-term process delivery).
  • You will leverage the off-shore expertise in data analysis to help shape policy formulation (for example in leveraging market data to develop pay matrices and salary/bonus modelling)
  • You will leverage the off-shore team to build and improve regular processes (for example benefit enrolment, Year End processes)
  • You will actively guide and build capabilities within our off-shore team through a matrix/project management capacity (these staff will report through their local management).
  • Providing input and reward support for the annual processes required for the reward system
  • Ensure compliance with UK regulatory and reward trends, practices, and insights to inform UK total reward agenda
  • Ensure compliance with QRS first line of defence activities and appropriate Data Protection legislation at all times.

Work pattern: This is a permanent opportunity. The role can be worked on a full-time basis.

Your professional experience

  • Specialist and technical reward knowledge of frameworks and practices, with a successful track record in making a contribution to the Total Reward strategy design, preferably in a large and complex organization. You will excel in one or more of the following areas:
  • Reward market data analysis, capable of running data submission and data analytics with experience in Job Evaluation processes and principles
  • Executive Compensation, Remuneration committee support and Remuneration reporting
  • Performance management processes
  • Broad based reward experience (base and bonus programs)
  • Driving a culture of recognition through an organization
  • Benefit Expertise, including Pensions, insured benefits (Life, Health insurance and Critical illness), and supporting flexible benefit
  • Mergers and Acquisitions, TUPE processes and post-acquisition harmonisation
  • Evidence strong technical understanding and ability to leverage HRIS and technical tools. You are a proficient user of core IT packages (e.g. Success Factors/SAP HR, Reward Systems, MS PowerPoint, and use of statistical analysis) and have advanced Excel skills, you are also aware of how systems can be leveraged to more effectively analyse and manipulate multiple, disparate data sets to develop modelling tools, reporting and statistical analytics with strong data visualization skills.
  • You have experience in managing external supplier relationships

  • Building and maintaining trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders internally, and demonstrating strong communication skills in the delivery of work outputs. You are an excellent and persuasive communicator you are able to use different communication styles to engage differing stakeholders (technical, senior leadership, line management)
  • You are able to work, and thrive in an agile working environment. You are:
  • Able to manage multiple priorities, being able to manage and meet the expectations of multiple stakeholders at once.
  • Quickly assess the resource needs of the specific projects, and effectively manage expectations for timelines for delivery
  • Able to work through others, building capability in team members and colleagues, across a matrix management structure

  • Demonstrating professional integrity, handling and dealing with confidential and sensitive data
  • Demonstrating operational excellence and delivery
