We have a new opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join the Balance Sheet Reporting & Control team.

As part of the overall Financial Control team for the Deloitte LLP group of entities, this role is critical in minimising financial risk through investigation and analysis of a variety of balance sheet accounts.

Your role

  • Reporting into the Balance Sheet Reporting & Control Manager, you will support the team in the delivery of Balance Sheet management for the Deloitte LLP group of entities.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and reports
  • Investigate, challenge and substantiate balances, providing meaningful analysis
  • Support the month end financial close process including preparing associated adjustments or journals
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and investigation
  • Support the VAT team to run VAT reports and analysis for quarterly submissions
  • Documentation of processes and controls including driving improvements

Location: The role will be predominantly remote/based from home with occasional monthly travel to Milton Keynes and may be appropriate for individuals from the following locations;

Birmingham, Cambridge, Milton Keynes, Nottingham or St Albans .

Work pattern: This is a full time, permanent role. However, we are open to discussing agile and flexible working arrangements in line with business need.

Your professional experience

  • Currently studying towards a recognised Accounting qualification or relevant accounting experience within a finance department and planning to undertake a recognised Accounting qualification
  • Experience of reconciliations and reporting
  • Strong communications skills, with the ability to develop effective relationships with all levels across the business
  • An ability to work effectively within the team as well as being able to work on own initiative
  • Positive can-do approach, with a passion for personal development and improvement
  • Experience with core Microsoft Office packages with advanced Microsoft Excel skills being an advantage
  • Working knowledge of SAP and BlackLine would be an advantage
  • Experience of working in a professional services organisation is preferred but not essential

Personal independence
