Your role

The role involves interaction with various stakeholders of all seniorities, to understand root causes of quality findings or deficiencies highlighted through internal and external review processes or through ISQM 1 evaluation. The Senior Manager will work closely with the Audit Quality Monitoring and Measurement leadership team as well as several other senior stakeholders across the Audit business.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Lead in the performance of root cause analysis, including the planning, scoping and reporting of RCA activities to leadership;
  • Project management of key stakeholders in the RCA process including the resolution of any operational challenges;
  • Liaising with other internal Audit Quality and Business Unit leadership to consider the impact of findings and root causes identified on the wider business;
  • Input into the design of remedial actions to address identified root causes;
  • Driving continuous improvement through innovation and transformation, embracing change and challenging the way we do things to develop new ways of working;
  • Being part of a wider community, helping to grow our department and develop our strategy; and
  • Working in a diverse team within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.

Your professional experience

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • Audit experience and a relevant accounting qualification, such as the ACA, CPA or ACCA or equivalent;
  • Experience in working on audit engagements, preferably of large and/or listed entities;
  • Ability to hold challenging discussions with an open mindset;
  • Ability to analyse data, identify trends and consider the impact of the analysis on the wider operations of the business;
  • A commitment to audit quality and demonstrable experience of applying professional scepticism;
  • A proven track record in establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with senior stakeholders;
  • Report writing, presentation and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communications skills;
  • Strong leadership skills both on engagements and in an office environment;
  • Experience of motivating and developing high performing teams;
  • The ability to build relationships across the firm
  • The ability to identify and drive the use of best practice to deliver improvement and development in the firm’s practices
  • The ability to drive creative thinking, connect ideas and insights from other industries and businesses

Essential

  • ACA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent
  • Senior manager in external or internal audit

Desirable

  • Understanding of ISQM1
  • Internal Audit Quality Monitoring/Practice review experience
  • Experience of auditing large and/or listed entities
