About the job

Your opportunity

Our history in the South-West and Wales goes back decades, and we are proud of the role we have played as employer, and in supporting those organisations based here that have driven regional and economic growth. We now employ more than 2000 people across this nation and region, with offices in Bristol and Cardiff, and are investing to drive even more growth and opportunity for those in our respective communities. We are also proud that our people are socially and neurodiverse, and that many have long histories with the firm, some having joined from school and since become Partners. We want our people to enjoy the work they do, and we are dedicated to providing them with the support and training and opportunities to take whichever path they chose.

The depth and breadth of our capabilities in our South West and Wales practices is vast, but we have a particular specialism in emerging and evolving technologies, many of which are fast-tracking advances across a range of industries. We’re part of the team behind trail-blazing solutions like the remotely-piloted drones used to deliver medical supplies and the technology systems designed to safeguard business from cybercrime and malicious behaviour.

Would you like to lead a team responsible for telling these stories, promoting the brand and driving business growth across the South West and Wales region?

Clients & Industries (C&I) is an enabling function directly aligned to the firm’s overall strategy of being the undisputed leader in professional services. Its approach starts by ensuring that all the experiences we create in our markets for our clients are integrated, focused, insightful, and bespoke.

In South West and Wales, a Clients & Industries Lead is required to lead the C&I team, drive forward the key client programme of activity and go-to-market propositions in the region and develop and deliver the regional C&I plan. This role includes specific focus on a client and portfolio-led approach to all marketing activity as well as enhancing the profile of the firm in the external market.

We are proud to offer flexible working arrangements which allow our people to choose the most suitable working arrangement that works for them. Whether this is working 4 days per week, taking the summer months off work, or more flexibility around your working pattern, we consider both formal and informal working arrangements that allow our people and our clients the best outcome. If you would like to hear more about our flexible working arrangements, please let us know.

Your role

The Clients and Industries (C&I) Lead for South West and Wales (SWW) is a trusted commercial leader and advisor, working closely with the Practice Senior Partner (PSP) and his leadership team to develop and execute the marketing and business development strategy for the region.

  • Work closely with the SW&W C&I team to create and direct the tactical execution of external and internal deliverables, drawing on the whole of the marketing mix
  • Own the regional marketing budget, ensuring excellent return on investment and driving better value for money. Provide timely reporting to key stakeholders, including evaluation of key marketing activities
  • Ensure linkage between SW&W and other parts of the business including the pan-regional C&I team, industries, service line and central teams – ensuring collaboration across the firm.

Portfolio

  • Work with Deloitte’s SW&W leadership team and Client Portfolio Manager to shape and implement a portfolio approach to building relationships and driving sales across strategic accounts in the region
  • Responsible for overseeing the annual client planning process, driving best practice account management and ensuring a focus on the firm’s key growth pillars
  • Provide increased levels of business development support on our most strategic accounts, bringing a multi-disciplinary lens to key opportunities, ensuring the optimal account team is in place and supporting the Lead Client Service Partner to increase revenue
  • Be the ‘voice of the client’ within region, including developing relationships where appropriate with key stakeholders in the marketplace. Understand the firm’s strategic business issues, provide expert advice, influence, challenge and inspire senior partners.
