About the job

Your opportunity

Become the Marketing Lead for an industry team that makes an impact that matters for the UK’s Government and Public Services.

We help reshape public services, making them more efficient to deliver, and accessible for the people that need them. Whether we’re integrating new technologies, using data to keep transport moving or creating shared services that save millions for the taxpayer, we are the trusted advisory and delivery partner for the public sector. Most importantly of all, we are passionate about the social value that we bring to this work.

Deloitte’s Government and Public Services (G&PS) practice works with clients across the UK public sector, from central government departments in Whitehall and the devolved administrations to local services including the NHS, police and councils. By joining the G&PS Clients & Industries (C&I) team, you will be leading all our industry marketing activity across an ambitious set of campaigns designed to engage this unique and dynamic sector.

As our marketing leader, you will help shape our G&PS marketing strategy and lead campaigns with impact. Those campaigns are based around thought leadership, storytelling and deepening our client relationship relationships, which help enhance our reputation and drive profitable growth.

The G&PS marketing team is part of a wider community of Deloitte professionals across our North and South Europe firm as well as globally. Our UK marketing lead will collaborate effectively with colleagues around the world as well as in other UK industries to bring the best of Deloitte to our public sector clients.

We encourage consideration of flexible ways of working, both formal and informal arrangements that allow for the best outcomes for our people and our clients. If this opportunity is of interest to you, please do discuss with us.

Are you looking to return to the workplace after an extended career break?

For this role we can offer coaching and support designed for returners to refresh your knowledge and skills and help your transition back into the workplace after a career break of two years or more. If this is relevant for you, just let your recruiter know when you make your application.

Your role

Working as part of an integrated team, you will be responsible for driving the industry marketing strategy and campaign plans, in alignment with our overall business plans. This role plans and executes issue-based campaigns and is the primary point of contact for the industry/sector leaders and their teams for their internal and external marketing and communications needs. In addition, the Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for coordination with cross-industry teams (e.g. PR, Agency) and Global to deliver end-to-end campaigns.

Reporting into the G&PS C&I Business Partner, you will:

  • Lead the marketing strategy for the G&PS industry group, working closely with G&PS sector and business leaders and other C&I functions across the firm (including the in-house Agency) to ensure the strategy aligns with business growth priorities, and is supported appropriately.
  • Working with the wider G&PS team to develop an annual marketing plan and individual integrated, pan-sector campaign plans that meet strategic objectives. Create and direct the tactical execution of the external and internal activations of the campaigns, and report on performance.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the creation of valuable client-focused content and interventions, and co-ordinate the delivery of these in partnership with subject matter experts.
  • Ensure linkage between G&PS and other parts of the business including client experience and other industries, service line and corporate groups – to ensure that clients experience the best, and most relevant offerings.
  • Identify and implement ways to empower the GPS internal community to become marketing champions, including the Social Media Champion community.
  • Actively engage in activities with colleagues in other Deloitte firms, in North and South Europe as well as globally, leveraging their input as appropriate.
  • Manage diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.
  • Manage the G&PS C&I budget to deliver the plan.
  • Manage risks associated with the implementation of the marketing plan.

Location: Regions with periodic travel to London as needed.
