Your role

  • Build out Azure infrastructure designs using Azure automation or using automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible;
  • Contribute to best practice Azure infrastructure designs to the highest standards possible; provide feedback /peer review on designs produced by colleagues;
  • Take responsibility for all aspects of infrastructure solutions you build from security by design to creating accompanying high-quality documentation;
  • Actively seek out opportunities to automate manual functions and justify reasons to do so to team leaders / management;
  • Maintain knowledge of developments in Azure and seek out opportunities to apply new features and functionality to existing design patterns;
  • Maintain project progress and documentation using Jira/Confluence/SharePoint

Your professional experience

Essential:

  • Skilled and experienced in Azure Infrastructure management and administration
  • Strong interest and mindset in building and managing Azure infrastructure using automation.
  • Experience in automation of Azure infra. using IaC tools ARM templates, Terraform.
  • Experience and good understading of Routing and its implementation in Azure.
  • Strong understanding and experience of Monitoring, Alerts (Metric, Log Search), Alerts Suppression, Log Analytics workspace.
  • Knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting Update Schedules, Backups, Policies.
  • Sound knowledge of Azure Networking concepts VNET, Peering, NSG, Hub-Spoke topology, Network Watcher.
  • Experience in configuring and troubleshooting Site-to-Site VPN, Point-to-Site VPN connectivity.
  • Good to have – experience in configuring and managing ExpressRoute circuits.
  • Fluent with concepts of KeyVault, Key rotation, Azure Disk encryption.
  • Scripting experience with Powershell preferred with a strong desire to develop further.
  • Sound knowledge of Azure AD, App registrations, SPN, Enterprise applications, RBAC, PIM.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, experience in YAML pipelines desirable;
  • Technical experience working in IT with a strong understanding of IT infrastructure fundamentals; compute infrastructure, storage, networking and management thereof.
  • A strong understanding of security concerns around cloud and a willingness to develop Azure infrastructure solutions which are secure by design;
  • Strong OS knowledge including recent Windows and / or Linux experience;
  • Familiarity with IT support processes and a commitment to produce supportable designs and builds;
  • Willingness to travel occasionally;

Desirable:

  • Multiple Azure certifications;
  • Understanding of Cloud Managed Services paradigm.
  • Experience in Azure PaaS services, development.
  • Experience or knowledge in Linux configuration and management.
  • Experience of development pipeline technologies such as Jenkins, Git, Github or any competitors thereof;
  • Experience of automating infrastructure deployment; using any of CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Salt, Chef or Puppet;
