Department for Education Jobs – Senior Policy Adviser

Job Description:

Work on the development and delivery of the Government’s flagship education policies, focusing on schools and the school system.

Job Requirements:

• Play an important role with our key external stakeholders, explaining government policy and testing approaches with key sector representatives and leaders (ensuring their views are appropriately fed into policy development and the design of systems and operational processes).
• Build strong and trusted relationships with senior officials with colleagues across Private office and policy and delivery teams – helping ensure coherence and driving delivery of key priorities.
• Help to shape advice to Ministers relating to Schools policy, drawing on data and evidence and using your own knowledge and experience of the sector to ensure policy and delivery risks are appropriately considered.
• Work as part of Strategy Unit on ministerial and DfE priorities, helping to tackle major strategic or delivery issues.
• Produce written content that will help communicate policy and ensure the Secretary of State is able to clearly explain Government strategy and programmes in a way that resonates with the public and professionals within the education sector.
