Derby City Council Jobs – Principal Accountant

Local Authorities are facing unprecedented challenges and well managed finances have never been more important. To help us in our goal of financial excellence we are now looking to recruit a number of Principal Accountants across the finance function to act as Business Partners to our operational directorates and within the corporate core.

Ideally you will be CCAB qualified but not essential, as AAT qualified or equivalent accountants with relevant experience will be considered.

We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic individuals with relevant technical accountancy knowledge. You should be an excellent communicator who is confident dealing with all colleagues across the Council.

You will need relevant IT skills together with the ability to solve complex problems, have an analytical nature which contributes to the delivery of a high-quality service within the accountancy team.
