Provide leadership and support to a team of 4/5 policy/project professionals, developing your team to deliver at the highest standard

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the agreed Business Case benefits and outcomes. Ensure appropriate Benefits Realisation Strategy is in place and monitor longer term delivery of benefits against the Business Case.
  • Identify and monitor project risks and issues.
  • Develop mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate.
  • Identify and work with related projects to manage interdependencies.
  • Lead on the scoping, initiation, delivery, implementation, administration, and evaluation of Teachers’ Pensions change projects. It is expected that you will work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment while demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
  • Lead on data analysis with a specific view on ensuring adherence to the PSED and development of accurate, evidence led equality reports.
  • Create and lead projects to deliver the agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints.
  • The day-to-day management of multiple projects, their workstreams and colleagues across different DfE sites.
  • Manage effective cross-organisation relationships to deliver a cohesive partnership working with the scheme administrator.
  • Provide effective leadership and management controls. Set project controls. Design the project structure and organisation appropriate to stage. Manage effective transition between project phases.
  • Develop and draft Business Cases as needed, with input from specialists as necessary.
  • Presenting your cases to senior colleagues in a clear, concise and professional manner.
  • Support effective governance and decision making. Provide reporting and engage in mechanisms that hold you, as Project Lead, to account for delivery.
  • Engage with assurance reviews and support action on recommendations.
  • Organise assurance processes such as gateway reviews, as required.
  • Ensure effective Change Management processes are in place to agree and document changes to deliverables as agreed with stakeholders.
  • Cascade vision and translate into delivery objectives for the team.
  • Develop and maintain Project Plans. Identify and set appropriate Project Controls. Manage performance and report progress to sponsors.
