Are you a fashion- conscious dog lover with experience of successful commercial retailing? Are you results orientated and target driven, with a track record of delivering positive results?

We have an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded and enthusiastic Retail Area Manager to cover our 11 shops throughout south Wales, across the Midlands and our most northerly shop in Wetherby near Leeds.

Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centres and charity shops. Last year, Dogs Trust centres cared for over 15,000 dogs; we never put a healthy dog down.

With 33 retail stores retail stores across the UK and new stores opening in 2023, we have a broad range of donated and bought in products, we are looking for a dynamic and flexible Area Manager who has the customer and the charity at the heart of everything they do.

In this role you will be accountable for the successful delivery of the Retail Operations Strategy in your area to maximise income generation for Dogs Trust. This will be achieved through the leadership of a team of Shop Managers, their staff teams and the volunteers who support our operations, and the effective monitoring and evaluation of activity to deliver continuous improvement. You will understand the need for the right stock in the right place to maximise sales. You will also ensure the impact/development of Dogs Trust brand across the high-street and ensure the highest level of financial probity across the area

The successful candidate will have achieved demonstrable success in a similar role in the retail or charity sector, will be accustomed to working to targets and experienced in performance management. You will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with good organisational and interpersonal skills. A commitment to the aims and objectives of Dogs Trust and a full manual driving licence are essential.
