Job Description

You will be working in an environment where attention to detail is pivotal. You are primarily responsible for ensuring that the Linehaul Department remains compliant, in line with O Licence, legal and Government legislation to include EC drivers hours legislation and compliance to the Road Transport Directive through monitoring, analysis and counselling of tachograph infringements.

Key Responsibilities will include;

  • Monitoring and reporting on the vehicles requested for service, MOT or repair and receiving the cleared vehicles back from the workshop.
  • Ensuring drivers comply with weekly driver digital tachograph card downloads and also ensuring each vehicle within the Linehaul Fleet has its digital tachograph unit downloaded at least every 56 days.
  • Running appropriate checks that each mile has been accounted for in tachograph records and drivers tachograph records are time right.
  • Carry out lead in checks for both employed and agency drivers and advising where issues occur for rectification
  • Carrying out spot checks on Agency documentation for correct paperwork and ensuring necessary briefings have been completed with agency drivers
  • Speaking and dealing with drivers directly
  • Conducting random and for cause alcohol tests in line with the Company’s Alcohol Policy
  • Have a good degree of computer literacy, as well as the ability to analyse data, along with the initiative to act accordingly

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

To be considered for this role you will ideally hold your International CPC Qualification. You must have proven and demonstrable experience doing a similar role within a fast paced, large transport operation. We will also expect you to be;

  • Analytical, data focused, highly organised and have exceptional attention to detail.
  • Be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal with strong decision making and problem solving skills alongside time management
  • Demonstrate high levels of resilience, self-motivation, flexibility and the ability to work on your own initiative and within a team.
  • Have a good degree of computer literacy, as well as the ability to analyse data, along with the initiative to act accordingly
  • Demonstrate the core DPD DNA values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Hard Work and Accountability.

Additional Information

Job Specifics

The successful candidate must hold a valid driving licence as the role will involve travel to other sites.

Ideally you will hold an International CPC or be willing to gain the qualification.

You will have a comprehensive induction to DPD this will involve you attending a Corporate induction followed by an thorough induction of our Linehaul Operations
