Job Description

We are looking for an experienced individual to lead and inspire the Finance Systems team to successfully deliver effective software platforms that meet the company’s requirements. This is a visible role across finance and the wider organisation and requires a strong collaborative business partner who can bring multiple stakeholders together to produce innovative systems solutions.

The Purpose of this role is to;

  • Lead & manage the Finance Systems team including production systems, application development and upgrades, data stewardship and to own relationships for all finance systems suppliers.
  • To determine the strategy and roadmap for finance systems and business processes. This will involve considering business needs and direction in the context of the wider IT environment.
  • To provide operational oversight ensuring continuity of service to the business and be accountable for the maintenance, development and budgets across the entire finance systems ecosystem.
  • Ensure stakeholder engagement and act as an information conduit across all business disciplines (especially I.T department), coordinating Finance efforts with affected parties internal and external.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the finance systems from strategic through to admin/access level
  • Take ownership of the Master Data across multiple platforms and systems
  • Work within the agreed change control process for Finance applications, identify improvements and ensure the systems and processes comply to central policies and practices
  • Responsible for system reporting, functionality and, all data feeds in to multiple systems
  • Business partner across all business functions taking a solution focused approach
  • Advise on strategic business solutions, software, data and process projects across the firm, especially those with Finance touchpoints in order to increase the value added and competitive advantage
  • Work continuously on ensuring a standard of data integrity and security is achieved and maintained
  • Train, mentor and guide direct reports to grow and fulfil their roles and to ensure the team is fit for purpose
  • A strong team ethos that relies on collaboration and a team that is service and solution orientated

Qualifications

What we are looking for;

  • Previous experience with finance systems good working knowledge of MS SQL
  • Working knowledge of Unit 4 Business World would be an advantage
  • Strong experience working with complex and large data sets
  • Understanding how data feeds in to finance systems
  • Excellent system functionality and optimisation
  • Experience using Google Big Query, Looker, Tableau would be an advantage
  • First class business partnering and stakeholder management
  • A proven track record working as a senior finance systems manager and leader.
  • Strong leadership, influencing and negotiation skills – underpinned by excellent communications skills
  • Ability to employ a wide range of management techniques to impart vision, motivate & mentor teams
  • Ability to balance strategic goals with day-to-day delivery in an environment that can be ambiguous and demanding. Flexible and agile approach.

Specific Requirements

Additional Information

  • Right to Work in the UK.
  • A full driving licence, together with a willingness to undertake UK travel and stay away from home overnight when required.
