Job Description:

This is an exciting new national role where we are looking for a passionate Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager to support us in driving progress with our ambitious EDI strategy and plan across the whole organisation. You will influence the direction of travel and add your value to inspire and involve our people and harness your experience as an EDI specialist, to bring to life the fresh and innovative thinking that is sparking up across the charity.

Job Responsibilities:

  • We’re looking for someone with passion and experience of EDI, who would relish the opportunity to help shape us on our journey to becoming a well-loved and well known charity that includes and involves all communities and welcomes diversity of thought to help us innovate and become sector leading.
  • We have tonnes of drive and enthusiasm, and amazing talent, but know we have a long way to go, so you will have the unique opportunity of coming into English Heritage at a time where we are at conception stage for a number of projects.
  • We are looking for someone with experience in driving programmes and plans on EDI, someone who is comfortable with a complex, but rewarding, environment and used to working in a proactive, collaborative and autonomous way.
  • This is a really diverse role, in that the EDI strategy is focused on not just our people, but our business and partners too, on top of that each site has its own unique challenges and exciting opportunities, which are boundless.
  • As you can imagine, you will need to be good at focusing on what will really make a difference, and help us plan for the future.

Job Requirements:

  • Our organisation is spread across the whole of England, so the successful applicant for this role will need to be willing to travel to a few key sites every year as part of stakeholder engagement for pilot projects, and go to others as part of learning more about our amazing spaces and places – you can see the location of our sites here https://www.english-heritage.org.uk/about-us/our-places/.
  • Some of our sites are in remote locations which means you will need to have your own transport to get there, all of our offices are a short walk from public transport.
