Job Description:

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) is continuing an ambitious transformation that brings together diplomacy and development. Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads the UK’s efforts to address global humanitarian needs driven by conflict, climate change and Covid 19 challenges.
  • Leading on Overseas Development Aid (ODA) policy and programme delivery, with full accountability to the Foreign Secretary for the implementation and delivery of the International Development Strategy across the FCDO and more broadly.
  • Ensuring the FCDO improves safeguarding standards across the aid sector to prevent harm, exploitation and abuse.
  • Supporting global partnerships and multilateral effectiveness.

Job Requirements:

  • You do not have to have worked in the Civil Service before – if you have a proven track record of transformation and delivery (within UK and International settings with a focus on challenges related to this portfolio) within a large scale, matrix organisation combined with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, we would love to hear from you.

Qualification & Experience:

  • You can be based in either London or East Kilbride. Diversity is vital to the success of this role and to the Civil Service as a whole.
  • This is a full-time role, but we will consider flexible working arrangements.
