Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with user-interface design.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with devices and services.
  • A passion for and knowledge of design systems, design system frameworks, UI design, and development tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, and familiarity with technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for platforms such as desktop, mobile, and Android.
  • Ability to closely collaborate with other UX functions, product management, and engineering to take product from concept to launch.

About The Job

The Visual Designer will have the opportunity of contributing creative ideas to help make people feel safe and be safer with Android, collaborating on the Android and Pixel design language and its application across Safety surfaces, and developing cross-device user experiences, with a focus on devices.

Responsibilities

  • Design the core Personal Safety experiences across connected devices.
  • Adapt to the latest Google Design language and contribute in defining a scalable visual design language for Personal Safety across connected devices.
  • Engage in collaboration with cross-functional partners for defining product mission, solving design problems, and align on consistent interaction patterns for one cohesive product experience.
  • Produce high-quality designs and detailed specifications across platforms/devices, and work with Engineers to implement designs to specification, accommodating technical constraints when they arise.
