We are a team of bright, creative, talented people who are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to join our team. The Senior BI Analyst is a key member in our BI leadership team. The role is business focussed so you will not only get to work on the cutting edge of technology in our new Azure and Power BI stack but you will get to know and understand Greggs ‘under the covers’.
This is a permanent, full time position based at Greggs House / Innovate House in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Salary
Up to £45K depending on experience
Work Pattern
Our usual working hours are Monday- Friday, however due to the nature of our business and the supporting service there is a requirement that the role covers rota weekend standby cover. Also due to the nature of delivery to the business we may require you to be flexible.
What you’ll do
Reporting to the BI Manager the role will be responsible for delivering and supporting insights from the new Power BI toolset. Championing the BI strategy throughout Greggs and striving for a quality service delivery.
As Senior BI Analyst you’ll lead, develop and mentor a team of BI Analysts to deliver best in class BI solutions. You’ll design and deliver training sessions across the business to support the effective role out of Power BI.
Working closely with business leaders, you’ll analyse the business insights needs and turn them into a powerful story told through engaging visuals in Power BI.
You’ll design and lead business and technical workshops to drive out insight requirements and translate business requirements to technical designs including data modelling solutions, working closely with the data platform engineers, testers, architects and MDM.
You’ll work closely with the testing team to manage the processes around SIT and UAT, resolving any defects identified.
You’ll keep abreast of insight trends in our market, future BI trends and technology changes (such as Power BI roadmaps), feeding in to the wider Greggs BI roadmap.
About you
You’ll fit right into Greggs as a Senior BI Analyst if:
- You have experience working with Power BI and other visualisation tools.
- You have experience of designing conceptual and logical data models.
- You know what you’re talking about when it comes to DAX calculations.
- You’re Microsoft certified.
- You have advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
- You have the ability to take business customer requirements, understand them and turn them into a powerful story told through engaging visuals in Power BI.
- You’re confident communicating with stakeholders of all levels including the ability to advise, train and support our business customers where necessary.
- You’re experience in Microsoft Azure DevOps and Agile Development Methodologies (don’t worry if you’re not though!)
