About Us

The London Institute of Medical Sciences (LMS) is a Medical Research Council funded research institute at the Hammersmith Hospital campus (London W12) of Imperial College London, with around 400 biomedical researchers undertaking multidisciplinary and internationally leading science.

About The Role

We are looking for a Finance Manager to join our finance team, which provides a comprehensive financial business partnering service to the LMS. This involves working closely with stakeholders to add financial awareness to their decision making and to deliver outcomes that are in line with the LMS and UKRI priorities, while ensuring that budgets are used effectively.

You will also perform a range of reporting and control functions, but fundamentally will be responsible for positioning finance to work with the researchers and link all activities to the delivery plan.

About You

You will have a degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience and be a part qualified CCAB and progressing towards completion of ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or other relevant CCAB qualification.

You should have experience in budget management, developing, analysing, interpreting, and reporting financial information and dealing with complex month end adjustments to a tight deadline. We expect you to demonstrate an understanding of comprehensive financial planning exercises, forecasting and rolling financial plans and to have strong IT skills including Excel to an advanced level.
