Job Description

We all have a responsibility to embrace the changes of FCDO as it transforms, building the culture we want to see and delivering our cultural statement in how we Lead and behave towards others; how we make decisions and how we get the job done is everyone’s responsibility.

In this role you will also be responsible for:

Managing FCDO’s contingent Liability and guarantee portfolio including risk modelling, in-year reporting and year end fair valuation.

Managing quarter-end valuation calculations for financial investments, Loans and provisions held on the FCDO’s balance sheet.

Leading the audit of all financial investments, contingent Liabilities, guarantees, Loans, provisions and financial instrument disclosures.

Advising and reviewing the accounting treatment of programmes that involve financial assets and liabilities to ensure compliance and value for money, including advising on the structure of investments or programmes. governance structures, and exit strategies.

Undertaking relevant financial analysis and modelling required for development of new financial instruments, including on contingent liabilities and guarantees, debt and equities.

Contributing to effective decision-making in programmes by inputting on business cases, analysing available options and presenting a clear recommendation which will deliver programme outcomes in line with financial rules, policies, or best practice.

Leading on managing queries from programme teams on financial aspects of the programme cycle, improving standards of financial management by applying professional judgement in interpreting management information, partner evidence, and accounting standards, and explaining this to non finance staff.
