About the job

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Digital Communications who will lead our high performing and busy Digital Communications team with the aim of growing our digital audiences and improving our content. You will have one team dedicated to designing and producing high quality digital and social media plans and content, and another creating and delivering effective low/no cost and paid-for digital campaigns.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is one of the leading competition and consumer agencies in the world and relies on engaging digital communications to communicate its work clearly and effectively to everyone in the UK. To ensure this continues, you will make the best use of the digital channels and platforms we have at our disposal.

You will also provide strategic advice to the team, and colleagues (particularly senior stakeholders) across the CMA, on how to effectively communicate their work digitally and create the best quality content. You will work with the Head of Campaigns to identify projects that would benefit from low/no cost support and help run paid-for B2C and B2B marketing campaigns.

You will also lead the growth of the CMA’s digital presence, with a particular emphasis on evolving social media channels and content, carefully curating what is posted, as well as running regular audits to inform future plans and content.

You will need experience of leading and motivating staff to deliver high impact and creative digital communications, as well as experience of creating, developing, implementing and evaluating paid and/or unpaid multi-channel campaigns.

You will also need experience in delivering high quality digital and social media content across a range of channels, as well as experience of growing and developing social media channels and evolving an organisation’s digital presence.

In return the CMA is a hugely diverse, rewarding and stimulating place to work – an opportunity to work for the public good and to stretch and develop yourself in doing so. We offer generous benefits, including an excellent pension scheme, at least 25 days leave (increasing to 30 over five years), and generous maternity/paternity leave provision. You can also take advantage of interest-free season ticket loans, a cycle to work scheme, our employee assistance programme and flexible working options.
