Credit Controller – Global Trade & Receivables Finance.

Global Trade and Receivables Finance comprises over 4,500 people across more than 60 countries, helping suppliers and buyers with their export and import finance needs. Trade is where HSBC began in 1865, when we financed commerce between Europe, North America and Asia.

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Credit Controller.

In this role, you will:

  • The jobholder will ensure the fair treatment of our customers is at the heart of everything we do, both personally and as an organisation.
  • Be responsible for a portfolio of Clients or responsible for the Client’s sales ledger management
  • Support a Client Services team in the development and execution of a high quality client-centric service culture that delivers superior post-sales support
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Act as a Services champion to ensure that key objectives are prioritised appropriately
  • Take personal responsibility for understanding and agreeing performance expectations, completing the necessary mandatory training and developing the levels of capability and competence needed to be effective in the role
  • Adhere to HSBC policy, procedures and control requirements applicable to day-to-day working, exceptional and project activities, and raise any concerns about actual or potential issues promptly, in line with reporting and escalation procedures
  • Continuously monitor and gather information from appropriate sources to assess potential impacts and identify risks, necessary changes and business opportunities

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Previous experience of a telephone based customer service role is essential
  • Experience of having difficult conversations with customers
  • Have strong IT skills and attention to detail
  • Learn new approaches and knowledge quickly
  • Work on tasks independently and take appropriate responsibility for actions and decisions
  • Plan and prioritise work in order to deliver high quality work on time with a personalised service to customers and colleagues

The base location for this role is Worthing, there is a requirement to be on-site in Worthing 2 days per week.
