We are currently seeking an expert individual to join this team in the role of Global Hedge Accounting Senior Manager.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as a key contact point with key stakeholders (including Treasury, Operations, Front office IT, Finance IT and other Finance teams) regarding the hedging activities of various entities within the HSBC Group;
  • Be part of a specific SME group on agreed topics across the HSBC Group and contribute to implementing a globally consistent set of processes, controls and eventually IT systems for those agreed topics;
  • Support the Global Head and the Regional Heads of the Hedging Units in delivering a globally consistent, compliant and future proof hedging framework;
  • Partner with Treasury, to facilitate a sustainable and efficient risk management framework which uses accounting designations (such as hedge accounting or fair value option) to support capital and liquidity beneficial hedging strategies;
  • Work closely with other teams which support all aspects of outside the hedging risk management framework, so that Treasury receives comprehensive support;
  • Work with the other resources across the Group to integrate the recommended changes and processes needed to deliver a globally consistent and compliant hedging framework;
  • Promote continuous improvement for all activities including increasing the efficiency and controls through procedures/systems change processes.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent);
  • Hedge accounting experience;
  • Product control (IT systems) experience;
  • Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.

The base location for this role is London and with a hybrid working pattern.
