Senior Project Manager

As the Senior Project Manager you will be responsible for shaping, managing and executing activity within one or more of the Model Risk priority projects. You will also be responsible for deploying the HSBC Change Frameworks within their project and instilling good project disciplines within projects and across Risk and the HSBC Group. Demonstrable experience of the management of projects, and an ability to effectively plan, design and implement transformation is required

Risk and Compliance Transformation (RCT) manages the Change the Bank investment portfolio and associated transformation activity on behalf of and across the Risk and Compliance function globally. It is accountable for the global, cross sub-function change agenda, delivering mandatory/regulatory and strategic change programmes on behalf of Global Risk and Compliance, in partnership with regional teams and in support of business partner control needs. It designs, leads and delivers large scale, complex global change across multiple geographies and jurisdictions, impacting regions and business lines, including system, people and process changes, ensuring the change programmes adhere to the change standards laid out by HSBC and using mandated tools and methods.

In this role, you will:

  • Influence and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across HSBC including subject matter experts on all areas of Model Risk.
  • Ensure Model Risk initiatives are developed and implemented in line with the Model Risk Management Transformation Programme.
  • Communicate confidently with senior stakeholders, taking a lead in working groups and other meetings.
  • Deliver challenging and complex objectives, deliverables and tasks on time and the required quality.
  • Identify solutions to emerging risk issues, changing priorities, project completion issues and areas of conflict.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and business sponsors
  • Delivery of large scale complex programmes at pace, developing high performing interchanging teams to support delivery at each stage
  • Experience of Model risk or frequent interaction with Model Risk functions
  • Strong knowledge of the external environment – regulatory, political, competitors etc.
  • Demonstration of commerciality
  • Proven implementation, change management and benefits realisation experience
  • Excellent understanding of Global Transformation Business Transformation Frameworks, methodologies and best practice techniques

The role will be centred at our Whitley, Chester, Sheffield or Edinburgh location with the additional option of remote working
