We are currently seeking a professional to join our team in the role of: Fixed Income Operations Supervisor

The primary responsibility of the Fixed Income Operations Delivery Management team is to manage the associated risks across Settlements, for both cash bonds and repos. This includes, but is not limited to, Inventory Management, Liquidity Management, Conversions, Buy-Ins & Regulatory Reporting. The team also support the settlement of primary issuance for the Debt Capital Markets group.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supervisory of the DSO Delivery Management Team, providing daily supervisory and process oversight to ensure operational risk is managed appropriately
  • Continuous development of direct reports ensuring the team are engaged with HSBC Business University and have developments plans in place
  • Objective setting and performance management of direct reports in line with wider DSO and Markets Operations objectives
  • Managing the day to day activities of the function across all markets for bonds and repos. This may include activities such as trade capture, front-to-back reconciliations, inventory management, liquidity management, buy-ins and communication with settlement teams for pre-matching and fails management, cash and depot reconciliation
  • Providing support and guidance to global teams and chairing risk and control meetings when required
  • Developing strong relationships with external client base and striving to deliver an excellent client service at all times to priority clients
  • Contribute to the culture of process improvement through driving small projects and enhancements

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • INTERNAL

Strong understanding of the Debt Securities (fixed income) Business for Trade Support, Client Support and Settlements

  • Knowledge of Tri-Party/ Collateral/Liquidity and/or Inventory Management is preferable
  • A proven background in leading and managing teams and developing people
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Exemplary planning skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple and conflciting priorities
  • Ability to work within a fast paced and deadline driven environment
  • Possess excellent problem solving skills and possess the ability to drive change and process enhancements.
  • Solid understanding of risk and controls with an awareness of the bigger picture

The role has a hybrid working pattern allowing for home based and office based working at HSBC offices in London.
